Terms of use
What you are agreeing to.
Draft · Last updated 30 September 2026 · Applies to gardenops.co.za
This is a draft, and it is not legal advice.
It was written by reading what GardenOps actually does, so that nothing here promises behaviour the software does not have. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer. Where a term would have to overreach to sound reassuring, it says the smaller true thing instead.
GardenOps is in private testing. There is no charge for access, and no commitment that a future version will be free.
Who you are agreeing with
GardenOps is provided by PracWorth (Pty) Ltd, registration number 2026/764595/07. Until 23 September 2026 it was provided by Jason de Kock personally.

What GardenOps is, and what stage it is at
GardenOps helps a homeowner plan garden work, send that work to a gardener over WhatsApp, and keep a record of what was done and when.
It is in private testing. That is not a disclaimer, it is the actual state: features change without notice, screens are rebuilt, and something that works today may be withdrawn.
Do not use GardenOps as your only record of anything you would be unable to reconstruct. Keep your own record of hours worked and payments made.
Your account
An account is for the person it was issued to. Keep your password to yourself — anything done through your account is treated as done by you, and you should tell us at the address above if you think someone else has access. You must be 18 or older to hold one.
The gardener is not a user, and that shapes everything
This is the most unusual term here, and the most important. A gardener has no account, no login and no screen. They receive WhatsApp messages and reply to them. Everything the product knows about them, you entered. So:
- You are responsible for having spoken to them first
- GardenOps asks you to record that you told the gardener they have been added, what will be sent to them, and that their replies are kept. That record is your statement about a conversation you had somewhere else. The product cannot ask the gardener anything itself, and it does not pretend to.
- You are responsible for the number being right
- A wrong number means a stranger receives messages about your property and your gardener.
- Nothing is sent until you switch it on
- Message delivery is off by default for every property, and a gardener with no recorded conversation is not sent anything the system starts by itself.properties.delivery_enabled defaults to false · mayReceiveOriginatedMessage in src/domain/gardener-consent.ts
- You are their employer, not us
- GardenOps is not a party to your arrangement with a gardener, does not employ them, does not pay them, and does not advise on either.
Messages, and what is not promised
Messages travel over WhatsApp, which is operated by Meta and governed by Meta’s own terms. Three consequences follow that GardenOps cannot remove:
- Delivery is not guaranteed. A message can be delayed, blocked or refused by Meta, or simply not reach a phone that is off or out of signal.
- A message being sent is not proof it was read.
- Meta sees the messages, because Meta carries them.
Do not use GardenOps for anything urgent or safety-critical. It is a work schedule, not an emergency channel.
Location
Where a gardener clocks in by sending a location pin, GardenOps records the coordinates and whether they were inside the property’s geofence — including for attempts it refuses. What is stored and why is set out in the privacy notice, which forms part of these terms.
Do not use this to track a person. It records a moment a gardener chose to send, at the start and end of a working day. It is not continuous tracking and must not be presented to anyone as though it were.
What you must not do
- Enter another person’s details without having told them.
- Use the product to harass, monitor or pressure anyone.
- Attempt to reach data belonging to another account, or to break, overload or probe the service.
- Resell or rebrand the service, or use it on behalf of people who have not agreed to these terms.
Your content
What you enter stays yours. You give GardenOps only the permission it needs to run the service for you — to store your data, show it back to you, send the messages you ask it to send, and keep a record of your account with PracWorth so that we can help you set the product up. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it to advertise to you.
Interruption, loss and liability
GardenOps is provided as it is. During testing there is no uptime commitment, no backup guarantee you should rely on, and no promise that data will not be lost.
To the extent the law allows, GardenOps is not liable for indirect or consequential loss — including lost income, a missed job, or a dispute with a gardener. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or under the Consumer Protection Act. If any part of this section is unenforceable, the rest still stands.
Ending it
You can stop using GardenOps whenever you like, and ask for your data to be deleted using the route in the privacy notice.
We can suspend or close an account being used in breach of the section above, or close the service entirely — this is a test, and it may end. Where the service closes we will give what notice we reasonably can, and a way to get your data out.
Changes, and the law that applies
These terms will change as the product does. The current version is the one published here, with the date it changed at the top. Continuing to use GardenOps after a change means the new version applies.
South African law governs these terms, and the South African courts have jurisdiction.
Complaints
Write to admin@pracworth.com. About your personal information specifically, you can also complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa — see the privacy notice for their details, and the PAIA manual for how to request a record.
One thing these terms do not yet cover
Nothing is charged for. The moment GardenOps takes money, South African law adds disclosure requirements — supplier identity, the full price, cancellation and refund terms — and these terms will need a payment section before that happens.
